Job Description

Sedbergh School is seeking to appoint a Cleaning Supervisor to join the current House Keeping Team.

Reporting to and working with the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will be one of two senior leaders in the cleaning team, assisting in the day-to-day operation of maximising the performance of cleaning teams and ensuring all cleaning is carried out to School standards and specifications.

The successful candidate will also have full knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals and will be expected to undertake any cleaning tasks as required.

The applicant should be an experienced cleaning team leader or an existing experienced house-keeping assistant or cleaner looking to advance their career, take more responsibility and gain experience from a well-established leadership team.

Key aspects of the role

· Lead the cleaners in a well-established School cleaning team in School buildings and boarding houses

· Develop and build positive relationships and a positive attitude with the team/colleagues

· Work with the Facilities Manager on ensuring that the whole site is cleaned, and staff understand their weekly duties

· Conduct cleaning audits (inspections) and ensure that any issues are dealt with appropriately

· Project a professional image and be positive and friendly.

This is a permanent, full time position. Details about this vacancy are as follows:

· 40 hours per week

· Starting SalaryUp to £22,000 based on experience
